Maria Victoria Guarín
Maria Victoria is a Senior Investment Officer in IFC’s infrastructure department. She has over 20 years of extensive experience in structuring and financing transactions in the infrastructure sector: toll roads, ports, utilities (water and electricity), mass urban transport and airlines. She has a leading role in IFC’s activities in Colombia and the Andean region and has been involved in many of IFC’s landmark transactions in the infrastructure sector in recent years: Ruta del Sol (advisory to the Government of Colombia for the structuring and tendering of 1,000 km toll road project in Colombia), Recaudo Bogota (US$ 176 mm debt financing to SITP collection concessionaire), Pacific Infrastructure (US$ 150 mm equity investment in greenfield liquids port), IFC’s equity investment in FDN and 4G projects debt financing.
Prior to joining IFC she worked as an independent consultant, and at NM Rothschild & Sons and Banco de Colombia’s Financial Corporation – Colcorp, during which she successfully led M&A transactions for public and private sector clients, including advisory to the Colombian Government in the privatization processes of Enertolima, Chec, Edeq and Dispac.
María Victoria holds an MBA degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, a Master of Science degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelors degree in Electronics Engineering from Universidad Javeriana.
